Gemstones are a fascinating world … although I include some of them in my jewelry, I usually tend to introduce other more unusual elements in my designs: colored metals, wood, resin, pigmented sand …
.
But if a client comes to the workshop and offers me to develop a pendant with this super-citrine and recycling “old” gold .. trusting my criteria for designing, … it is a great pleasure for me!

When you start drawing with the gemstone in front of you, you have to think about its weight, that the gold mounting should help to balance the piece. I also thought the bottom of the stone should be protected. And the metal should allow the light to get to the whole piece. You see that there are many points to consider, but so is the piece approaching process! So, with all these and after some sketches, I found this solution, which meets all the above considerations. The circle on the back of the jewel that is the basis for the claws holding the stone and the protection of the butt, along with the position of the chain ring, makes the weight is balanced and gold tone allows the stone to appears clean.

And the most important: the client was really pleased with the jewel!
