Last weekend I was involved in an artistic action called “Florart” organized by Art’s, a local association that brings together people with artistic interests. This exhibition was held in the town streets, and it was included in “Ferreries Floreix” (blooms) over two days, the town literaly blooms: volunteer neighbors take their plants out, they make flower carpets full of colours, they hang garlands and ornaments made with recycled materials, they have been preparing over last weeks,… the atmosphere is great!

Honestly, though I like painting, I’m usually not be able to find the physical space nor the time to do it. On this occasion, as I felt the idea was great, I found a way to get myself organized in order to provide a work to this specific action. For me it is always a challenge to face such a large surface, as I am so used to work in the small format of the jewels. But once past the initial vertigo, I set to work.

After thinking it over for a few days, I remembered a photograph I took years ago in a sandstone quarry: among some rocks a tiny plant was born.

Here’s a short video “making of”.
And another day, more “big” stuff!!
